Man comes to the heartwarming realization that he finds his cat asleep on his pillow is because she feels purrfectly safe smelling his scent before bed: 'There's always a cat-shaped imprint on my pillow when I get home from work'

Cats really do love their hoomans, even if it pains them to admit it sometimes. But there are a few instances where cats just can't hide their purrfound love for their pawrents, and the cat below can't bluff their way out of this one. A pawrent posted about often finding his cat asleep on his pillow, and wondered why. So he asked the online cat community, and they helped him come to the most heartwarming realization: she likes to sleep there because it smells like him. It makes her feel secure to smell her hooman's scent so she can safely drift off into dreamland purrfectly content. If that doesn't pull on your heartstrings, we don't know what will.

In order to help prove their point, fellow feline fans posted their kitties sleeping on their pillows as well. Not just pillows, also their old clothes, bedsheets, and even kitties that tucked themselves in underneath their hoomans covers. It's purrfectly appropriate now that it's getting chilly outside and inside! We love coming home to find our cats underneath the covers. It just confirms what we already suspected: that they are our babies. All that's missing now is the baby clothes.

  • That's actually very true; it's not really his pillow at all, is it? Once you get a cat, everything in “your” house becomes theirs. He's lucky she even lets him use that pillow anymore. She is so nice and generous with her hooman!

  • Our cat doesn't sleep on our pillow, but she does fall asleep with her face in our shoes sometimes. Yup, we have one of those cats. She just can't get enough of them. We try not to judge, but it is ridiculously silly.

    Elven_Groceries If she's a single cat, maybe she feels lonely. Consider getting a second one. In my experience, there isn't much diference of maintenance between 1 and 2 cats. There is, though, between 2 and 3. If you think she can accept a new cat or kitten, then do.

    TattooAngel I had a cat that as a kitten would curl up on my pillow, against my neck to sleep every night. He grew to be a huge but gentle boy that still wanted to sleep on my pillow against my head. He was so big that he eventually took over the pillow snd I had to get another one just for us to be comfortable. Every night he slept there including his last night.
